We employ around 60 staff in our purpose-built flower processing facility which spans 4200m2 in Oberhasli, ZH, Switzerland.

Distribution

Our work encompasses cultivation, packaging, transportation, processing, quality assurance and distribution of over 40 million stems of cut flowers and greens per year.

Kenya and Ecuador

In Kenya and Ecuador, thousands of people work on approximately 30 flower farms with which we maintain long-standing business relationships.

90% of the flower farms we collaborate with are certified according to the stringent standards of Fairtrade/Max Havelaar.

Foundation

Bernhard Bürgisser founded agrotropic in 1976 to import cut flowers from Kenya to Switzerland.

Expansion

With the establishment of the Tropiflora farms in Kenya (1982) and Sri Lanka (1980), the founding of Blume 3000 (1983) and the new processing facility in Switzerland (2017), he consistently pursued this path.
